What is the CMMC Accreditation Body?

The CMMC Accreditation Body—now doing business as The CyberAB—is a private, independent, Maryland-based, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that serves as the sole official partner of the Department of Defense for the registration, accreditation, and oversight of the CMMC Ecosystem.

CMMC Accreditation Body remains the official legal name of the organization, but it was rebranded as the CyberAB back in July 2022 to be more accessible and represent its potential future growth into other sectors, agencies, or even nations outside of the DoD’s formal CMMC program.
