What is a Certified CMMC Professional (CCP)?

A Certified CMMC Professional (CCP) is an individual who is in good standing with the CAICO and has completed a CMMC Certified Professional class offered by an Approved Training Provider (ATP), passed the CMMC Certified Professional exam, and applied and obtained a Tier 3 determination from the DoD. Once all these requirements have been met, CCPs receive a badge and are listed on the Cyber AB Marketplace.

Once certified, CCPs are authorized to assess, examine, verify, and review an organization for CMMC compliance but they cannot make any final determinations. CCPs can also participate as part of a CMMC Level 2 assessment team only to verify Level 1 practices. Considering that CCPs possess a strong understanding of the CMMC model, assessment process, and scoping requirements, they can also serve as consultants helping organizations prepare for a CMMC assessment.

Only those who have achieved their CCP certification can begin the process of becoming a CMMC Certified Assessor (CCA).
